Thank you for taking the time to warn the unsuspecting public about the blatant false advertisement. I, for one, appreciate it immensely, as I was about to purchase one!

You need to tell everyone what it actually is, it’s a tiny evaporative cooler, a swamp cooler, that’s it. I have an evaporative cooler w0 times the size of this for my garage and it drops the temp in the garage 10-15°. This tiny piece of crap couldn’t cool a closet.

In a DRY, LOW HUMIDITY Location... Maybe. A Little Bit... BUT... I Maybe Might have a solution at the bottom. Context: *I grew up in the Very DRY Desert Mid West and moved to Florida almost a decade ago. We used a "Swamp Cooler" (what we called it out there) for... Literally Decades while I was growing up... Like, for 50 Years! BUT, IT WAS A BEAST!!! Took up 1/2 our sliding glass door. AND IT could Never cool an Entire Room IN 5 Minutes. 🙄 30 mn, yeah. But Never 5. 🤔 I Do have a Labradoodle tho who's Very Curly and runs hot, even with a short hair cut. Doggie gel cooling mats Don't work, they just get Hot. It Maybe Might, work for him at night so he doesn't have to sleep on our hard floor tiles, panting hard and getting no sleep, even with A/C set at 71°f and Maybe he can be comfy in a dog bed to sleep. It'd only be about 12-15" away.

I agree with you they're misleading advertising and lying that it's a new type of AC unit, it's just a cheap swamp cooler.

I picked up a low shutter count (I think it was a video camera) used 6Dm2 from B&H Photo for $600. For what it is, I think that’s a fair price in 2024. It’s a good, solid, consumer level camera that has great photo and AF quality and good, not great, video. Brand new it was wasaaaayyyyyy overpriced so naturally it was a dud.

Just ordered this as a replacement to one I lost during a shoot. I always get anxiety buying new stuff. I appreciate the help. I feel way more comfortable now.

I went with this lens for some reasons: The image stabilization for video (on canon and Sony with an adapter - both full frame) Indoor real estate shots and maybe raise the iso to compensate with the aperture I was very attracted to the sigma art but at the end those won’t have like an image stabilization for video right?

I Jerryrigged a fan once to take ice cubes and you can feel the cooling all night. I had the ice in a stainless steel mesh netting hanging right in front of the fan. All the water drippings and ice bit fell into a bottom/ending stainless steel catch basin [that was twice as deep as the ice cube mesh netting/starting tray], the fan was also just slightly hitting the bottom pan. Worked so well! I should make a patient on that.

And the fact that it is junk junk junk junk junk junk do not waste your money it is junk

I'm not singling you out because all other reviewers do the same thing, but it would be nice to get a real review. Maybe put a thermometer at the output or time how long it takes to cool a small room at 80 degrees - assuming it cools it at all.

Did you put a thermometer where the air comes out of the unit compared to the ambient air in your house, and what is the humidity where you're at?

I agree with the advertising. In dry climates evaporative cooling (swamp coolers) is a thing and it works very well if you take dry air from outside, fan blows through wet media and cooled air flows to open windows where you want it cooled. It's about 20 degrees cooler than outside air. If it just takes inside air, eventually the humidity will just keep getting higher and the cooling gets less effective.

If you just put water in it, it only makes your room humid and hot. It didn’t cool the room down at all. The central air conditioning unit in my house broke and I tried this as the sole means of cooling the room while I waited for the repair man. I didn’t try it with ice. That might have worked better.
